La Liga club on verge of long-awaited title

Real Madrid are poised to win a first La Liga title in five years on Sunday as Zinedine Zidane's men hold a three-point lead over Barcelona heading into the final day of the season. Barca need to beat  Eibar  at home to have any chance of a third straight title in outgoing coach  Luis Enrique's  farewell to the  Camp Nou . Madrid have looked in ominous form as they've edged towards the title by thrashing  Sevilla  and  Celta Vigo  4-1 in the past week with  Cristiano Ronaldo  scoring twice in both games.

Brown the heart behind Celtic dominance - Manager

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says captain Scott Brown's leadership on the pitch has been the catalyst behind his side's remarkable season with more records perhaps set to fall. The champions are looking to become the first team to end a 38-game  Scottish Premiership  campaign unbeaten and will break the league points record if they avoid defeat in Sunday's season finale against  Hearts . Rodgers's side have fired in 104 league goals in their all-conquering season -- just one short of the record 105 they amassed in 2003-04 and a win against Hearts would also see them set a new record for number of league wins in a campaign.

Football: Icardi in, Aguero out for Argentina

Lionel Messi will spearhead Argentina's attack against arch-rivals Brazil next month but there was no place in the squad for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero. Inter Milan  forward  Mauro Icardi  replaces Aguero in a squad believed to have been chosen by  Jorge Sampaoli , the  Sevilla  coach who is poised to take over Argentina in a bid to rescue their World Cup hopes. Playmaker  Manuel Lanzini , who has enjoyed a good season for  West Ham  in the Premier League, gets his first international call-up. Before they get back to the business of qualifying for Russia 2018 in August, Messi and Argentina play Brazil in a June 9 friendly in Melbourne in what is likely to be  Sampaoli's  first game in charge of his country.

Champs Chelsea savour title festivities

Chelsea's extended victory parade will reach a climax with the trophy presentation when Sunderland arrive at the home of the Premier League champions on Sunday. Having wrapped up the title with two games to go,  Antonio Conte's  side have been able to see out the season in comfort, although Monday's 4-3 victory over  Watford  confirmed they were certainly not running down the campaign quietly. The meeting with a Sunderland side long since condemned to relegation will allow them to sign off in style before the presentation of the Premier League trophy caps off a memorable campaign. John Terry  will collect the silverware in one of his last acts as Chelsea captain before thoughts turn to the  FA Cup  final against  Arsenal  as Conte's side bid to complete the double.

I'm convinced everyone overlooks the best deal at Trader Joe's — and it isn't food

My favorite part of Trader Joe's is the checkout line. Not because of the Belgian chocolate bars or sea-salt brownies that line the aisle (although, I'm not objecting), but because the checkout line is home to one of the best deals at Trader Joe's:  the greeting cards. They range from whale cards for birthdays ("Have a sea-riously awesome birthday!) to colorful cards for congratulations ("Here's to you!") to engagement, new baby, and sympathy cards. If you have an occasion, Trader Joe's has a card for it.

After suffering a back injury in the late 1990's, Page said doctors told him his career was over. Page wouldn't have it. He discovered the healing power of yoga, which got him back into fighting shape and extended his career far longer that anyone would have imagined.

Uber may charge you more based on where you're going

In a controversial move, Uber has started to charge riders a premium based on where they're traveling. Uber generally determines pricing by taking into account a trip's distance and duration as well as the level of demand in the area in which it originated. Now, though, it's charging extra to certain customers who travel along particular high-demand routes. After losing more than $2.8 billion last year — excluding what it lost in China — Uber is trying to increase its revenue and build a sustainable business, Daniel Graf,  Uber's head of product, told Business Insider in an interview at the company's San Francisco headquarters Friday. The company is also trying to offer a better experience for customers and drivers, he said. The pricing move "creates more trips in the city," Graf said. "More trips in the city means less wait times and shorter pickups time for riders and drivers."

‘Fani-Kayode, others planning overthrow Buhari’ - Group

A former Minister of Aviation,  Femi Fani-Kayode  has been warned against making mockery of the health of president Muhammadu Buhari. O'odua Progressives Youth Movement , which handed this warning to the ex-minister, said his recent comments suggest that he is one of those planning to lure the military to overthrow Buhari. In  an article  on Thursday, May 18, 2019, entitled ‘The ringing of coup bells and a cause for deep concern,’ Fani-Kayode noted that ever since 1966, the northern ruling class had always effected a coup d’etat whenever they feel sufficiently threatened with the loss of power. "They would rather have a core northern military dictator in power than a southern leader or President. And they are prepared to kill anyone, no matter how highly placed, who stands in their way or who attempts to oppose or stop them," Fani-Kayode wrote. Reacting to the comment at a press conference on Friday, May 19, 2019, the national coordinator o

Economists are puzzled about why incomes aren’t rising — but workers have a good hunch

Economists are often wringing their hands over why, despite a continuous eight-year economic recovery, workers’ wages remain largely stagnant, extending a trend that began some three decades ago. Yet anyone who has applied for a job in the last couple of years knows that, while the US unemployment rate is historically low at 4.4%, the labor market isn’t exactly bustling. Companies have become a lot more reticent about making new investments in the wake of the Great Recession and during the weak economic recovery that has followed it. That includes investing in people, and the hiring process has become slower and more onerous. It also means wage increases have become even harder to come by.

I am in total support of what Buratai said ,” Jemibewon said.
